From the available mainstream options, my wife and I think Godiva (though overpriced) makes a pretty good milk chocolate.

Dove's milk chocolate isn't BAD, either. We agree with Anonymous, though... the Cadbury Dairy Milk bar in America sucks compared to the UK version. Not worth your time in the U.S.

If you're going to eat Hershey's, try the Symphony bar with Toffee pieces. It's probably Hershey's best offering.

That said, if you have a local chocolatier, give them a try. They can surprise you with great value and creativity.

BTW, totally miss the 1UP/EGM podcasts. Hope all is well in your world!

I live an hour drive from Hershey Pennsylvania. Growing up, it was Hershey Milk Chocolate or bust.

Sadly, The Hershey Corporation has pretty much shipped the production of all their chocolate to plants in Mexico.

It's not Chocolate Snobbery in your taste, Jen. It's the horrible taste of shipping jobs out of the country.

My dad used to have a York Peppermint patty after every dinner like it was a palette cleansing desert. Now that they're being made in Mexico, my parents refuse to by them anymore.

My mom swears by dark chocolate now. She has my wife hooked on the stuff.

It's probably the wax that's the artificial taste....

It's probably the wax that's the artificial taste. Who knows though, Hershey's is so hit and miss. Sometimes it's great and sometimes its horrible.

I am also more of a milk chocolate fan, and have found that a lot of the regular chocolate just doesn't do it for me anymore. (Although M&Ms, with that artificially flavored, HFCS-filled candy shell still make my day.) Have you tried the Guittard milk chocolate chips? I keep an open bag of those around for nibbling on, and they are fantastic.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate bars are the best. But if you can, go to Europe and get one there, it's waaay better than the ones made by Hershey's in the U.S. via a licensing agreement.
